I'd rather kill Shiro 90 times than HFFF for 25.000 times.

You're crazy. There are now several ways to gain faction faster than the old HFFF.

[email protected] nerf. It was the perfect way to nerf something without changing any game mechanics. Maybe now you can earn the title without abusing exploits.
I could care less about HFFF though. For people who DON'T feel like clicking the same spots on the mini map forever, the updated faction earnings are awesome.
For people who refuse to adapt and learn new things, it's terrible.

With all Expert's rewards times added up for the 11 missions, you've got 354 minutes or almost 6 hours. Note that this is a VERY conservative estimate, especially considering by the 3rd or 4th time through you'll more than likely be hammering down Master's or well under Master's on every timed mission, so 4.5-6 hours for 120,000 Faction. The latter is comparable to HFFF. The former, which is quite attainable, is 33% quicker than HFFF (~26.6k/hr vs. ~20k/hr).
To go from 0 K/L faction to max title, you'd need 83.3 books, and since odds are nobody is starting from absolute 0, we'll say 83 books for max. 83 books at the lower (but again, still quite possible) time of 4.5 hours = 373.5 hours or 15.6 full days to achieve max. Proportionalities spawn from that, i.e. 12 hour days would take 31.2 "days," etc.
Cash wise, you're nowhere near HFFF (498k for 83 full HM books, 1.86M for zero-to-max HFFF) from books, but merch food, IDs, chests, etc., will help to shrink that gap. Assuming you make only 4k from doing all of the missions in NM (I made about 3k from doing 9/11 tonight, so again this is rather conservative even for NM), you've got another 332k notwithstanding progress on other titles such as TH/W or the chance to get rares/items above merch price or even sell 7 golds at 5k or whatever the going rate is. To be as money-effective as HFFF, playing through the campaign each time would have to average 16.6k net profit. While it seems steep, 83 times through of opening chests and killing thousands of foes in HM yields high likelihood of rare weapons. At the very least I'd guess you can make 8k once through these missions in HM consistently, leaving you some 600k short of HFFF. Realistically, this isn't a *terrible* loss of consistent income of money and faction.
I hope this was easy to understand, typed it late at night after investigating the changes and thinking over how this affects my title pursuits.

Second if you think that planting flags for 400 hours is better than 90 shiro books there is no hope for you here....

Its not just killing shiro, but completing all missions in Hm.
I myself am in Vanquish frenzy on my secondary characters.

True, but anything is better than that boooring HFFF. Vanquishing sounds more appealing to me.

I agree, filling books is way more entertaining, yet I don't see how the new system is supposed to reduce grind.
Repeating 11 missions 90 times is nothing but grind. You're not abusing an exploit now, but that's still an insane ammount of grinding.

Bring a few characters trough Factions. Do some Urgoz runs, AB a bit.
No-one says you need to complete all those missions 90 times.
This update brought us options, instead of HFFF being the only fast Factions booster.

Vanquishing is the way to go. Find an area you fancy, find a good build for it and bang! 20,000+ faction a pop, a good deal more for large areas with many bosses.

Exactly, and that's my plan. AB some, FA/JQ some, vanquish some. Help a guildie through Factions missions and slowly fill a book. Pretty good compared to previous dilemma "damn why I am AB/FA'ing, waste of time despite being fun... I should be HFFFing for optimal gains..."
Yesterday I won 2,500 faction for a quick win in FA, then 2,500 for JQ. That's not counting the faction per kill. That's a VERY nice and fun way to get the title.
Now imagine double FA/JQ weekends, 5,000 per win.
Same goes for double faction donation weekends, if we get one again it will be awesome with the new gains.

Yeah right. Shame all my 14 character have gone through Factions from beginning to end. I've cleared all the four games with most of them. Had the books been retroactive, fine, I would have paid to get one book filled and then I would have started over... But they aren't, because devs "are worried about economy". Well, thanks to whoever decided we shall also get money by giving books in.
I'm not gonna AB anymore, I've been ABing so much it makes me sick now. So, what's left for people like me? Vanquishing. Vanquishing AGAIN. Or grinding books. Or giving up with this title
Books could have been the most viable and welcomed solution form me. Still, I'm not gonna play HM Factions 40 times now.

QFT. I have 9 protectors, of which 1 is also guardian. I sincerely hope the community pressure will be so big Anet will decide to make them retroactive. The economy is a farce anyway.

I think this update makes it realistic for the dedicated player to achieve max rank in a reasonable amount of time with a reasonable amount of effort.
If repeating the same quest and exploiting a bug was the ONLY way to achieve max rank in a reasonable amount of time, wouldnt that be super-lame?

I could really care less about HFFF or the titles for that matter, but I just love when people say stupid things like this.
Who are you to dictate what is playing GW and what isn't. You might not like standing outside a city and pinging your heroes but, others might like doing it, therefore they are playing GW how they want, not how someone else THINKS it should be played.
